Henbit (Lamium amplexicaule)
Henbit (Lamium amplexicaule) is a non-native wildflower that can be found growing along roadways throughout the US and Canada. It is native to Eurasia and Africa but has been introduced to this continent. Henbit is quite a hearty plant and spreads rapidly, but this characteristic also makes it difficult to get rid of once it is established. Although Henbit is a member of the mint family but does not have a minty taste. When Henbit consumed raw it is claimed to resemble kale more than mint in flavor. Henbit is believed to have medicinal properties in holistic medicine. Some possible remedies are as an anti-rheumatic, diaphoretic, an excitant, febrifuge, a laxative, and a stimulant
